We are the checklist queens at Going Places! We have well tested forms to work through with you and to help organize your questions, planning and thinking about your move or restyle.
Talking it through and using our experience and expertise to plan your next home stage will instantly make the process feel more manageable. We know that personal consultation is the only way to get things done well.

How do you manage decluttering while we are still living there?
This process is one of the most common services that we offer. Our team is repeatedly complimented for our sensitivity and efficiency as we work in, and around, our client needs. We can arrange to come in on a day while the residents have an outing or simply plan our packing and decluttering around the space as the client relaxes at home. Again, the key to success here is in the organization- and our coordinator will manage the process for decision-making and removals in advance to ensure an efficient and rewarding declutter-day.
How do you sort what needs to be stored and what needs to be sold?
We have labeling systems and a team of long experienced and sensitive packers to ensure the best result. We can organize the removal of goods to storage/ auction sales/charity donations and rubbish removals. We have established contacts for all these services so that you don’t need to worry.
Our consultant will define the process for what to keep and what needs to go with the client before our team arrives so that the team is clear from the start how to best sort your memories and household goods.

With changing health and family demands; delayed real estate chains and retirement home waiting lists, we are very familiar with the staggered process that many of our clients face with their downsizing, home moves and restyling plans. Do not worry! Going Places has experienced it all and we can recommend options, timings and storage solutions for you while your plans are settled. We work regularly with great real estate agents so we really understand how to minimize the unrest during this period of change.
Can you unpack later once I/we are ready to settle into a new home?
Yes! Going Places has single service and total package price options that mean you can work with our help in stages or for the entire sweep! Our experienced team of packers and home stylists are briefed for both loading and unloading so we can set your home up again when you are ready.
If the move is downsizing to a retirement home, how can I work out what to take?
We specialize in downsizing and with so many happy retirement relocations under our belt we have a really good understanding of how to curate a concise collection of what you really love alongside what you will need. We offer personal consultation to ensure this is a really supportive service- and we work regularly with many aged care properties, so our experience is well tested.
If my friends and family plan some of my relocation, can you just help with just some bits of the move or sale?
Yes. Ask Going Places to quote you for the single service options that suit you. Our goal is to be effective and celebrated for our services- not to be overbearing!

How do you charge?
We are happy to work out a package that covers your entire move or simple charge you for individual services for the various stages that you need our help. Onsite consultation is included in our cost, as we believe that insightful understanding of your needs is paramount for attention to detail and making sure you are happy. Do you help people relocate to aged care facilities or nursing homes?
The Going Places team are frequently called to help assist older clients get ready for the sorting, packing and practical adjustment involved with moving into retirement villages and specialised, aged-care environments. We have great relationships with many local care managers and retirement village staff that assist us to ensure this step is thoughtfully and efficiently handled for the folks we help. Our experience with the practical considerations of room size, good storage and layout means that we can ensure a new space looks and feels attractive, and like home- before our client arrives to settle in. Most importantly of all- we understand that this kind of move can be an emotional rollercoaster.
